    Merger on the 1st October 2019

    Carisbrooke Health Centre are merging with Dower House Surgery on the 1st October 2019. The new surgery will be known as Newport Health Centre. We will continue to provide services across both sites, at Carisbrooke and Pyle Street ( Dower House ). On Monday 30th September 2019 we will be merging all the computer clinical systems. This will mean our computers will be down from 4pm on Monday until the surgery opens again on Tuesday morning, 1st October. The surgery will remain open as usual during this time. Our current contact numbers will remain the same but our appointments line will change to 01983 522060 from the 1st December 2019. we hope this merger will bring better resilience to both practices and also allow us to develop and commission new services.     Practice merger

    Carisbrooke Medical Centre and Dower House Surgery are set to merge this Autumn – to help improve and sustain our services to you in the long-term. NHS Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has approved our formal merger from October 1.     As of Monday 22/10/2018 Carisbrooke Health Centre and The Dower House Surgery will see on-the-day emergency appointments in the the New Acute Hub. The Hub will operate 8:30 – 18:30 Monday to Friday with prebooked appointments, please see below for full details.

    Evening and weekend appointments now available

    Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturday and Sunday). Appointments will take place at another NHS setting nearby. Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or book an appointment. By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at www.england.nhs.uk/gpaccess
